The BAOFENG UV-5G PRO is an advanced GMRS handheld radio designed for reliable communication. It features an expanded 8-band receiver, including GMRS, UHF, VHF, FM, NOAA, Airband, 1.25m, and 1m. This radio is GMRS repeater capable and supports Chirp programming for customized channel settings. It is built for long-range transmission and is compatible with 5R series accessories.

- To charge, place the radio with the battery installed into the desktop charger. Connect the adapter to the charger and a power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status.

4.1 Channel Mode and Frequency Mode
The radio operates in two primary modes: Channel Mode and Frequency Mode. Press the VFO/MR קנעפּל צו באַשטימען צווישן די מאָדעס.
- קאַנאַל מאָדע: Allows selection from pre-programmed channels (GMRS, repeater, etc.). Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to navigate channels.
- אָפטקייַט מאָדע: Allows manual input of frequencies for scanning or direct access.
4.2 GMRS Communication
The UV-5G PRO comes with 30 default channels, including 22 pre-programmed GMRS Channels and 8 modifiable GMRS repeater channels. To communicate, ensure your radio is in Channel Mode and select the desired GMRS channel. Press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button on the side of the radio to transmit, and release to receive.

4.3 NOAA Weather Scan & Receiver
The NOAA feature allows the radio to automatically scan and receive weather reports. This is crucial for staying informed about severe weather conditions.
- Access the NOAA channels through the menu or pre-programmed channel list.
- The radio will provide real-time weather alerts and forecasts.

4.4 Scanning Frequencies
To scan for active frequencies, press and hold the יבערקוקן button (often marked with a blue triangle or similar icon). The radio will scan through frequencies and stop on an active channel, allowing you to listen in.
4.5 Chirp Programming
The UV-5G PRO supports Chirp programming. This allows you to connect the radio to a PC or Mac (using a compatible programming cable, sold separately) to customize channels, frequencies, CTCSS/DCS codes, and other advanced settings. Select "UV-5X" under BAOFENG in the Chirp software.
