The Extech HD400 is a robust light meter designed for accurate measurement of light intensity across a wide range. It utilizes a precision silicon photo diode and a spectral response filter to ensure cosine and color corrected measurements. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your HD400 Light Meter.

1. באַטאַרייע ייַנמאָנטירונג

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the HD400 meter.

3. Insert the supplied 9V battery, observing the correct polarity (+/-).

2. Connecting the Light Sensor

1. Connect the cable from the light sensor to the input jack located at the top of the HD400 meter.

1. Insert the software CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.

גענומען מעזשערמאַנץ

1. Ensure the light sensor is positioned in the area where light intensity is to be measured. The sensor should be facing the light source.
2. The current light reading will be displayed on the large backlit LCD.

פונקציע קנעפּלעך

• וניץ: Press to toggle between Foot-candles (Fc) and Lux units.
• קייט: Press to manually select the measurement range. The meter also has an auto-ranging feature.
• מאַקסימום / מין: Press to display the maximum or minimum light reading recorded since the meter was powered on or the function was reset.
• שפּיץ: Activates Peak mode, capturing the highest reading over a 10mS period. Useful for measuring short light flashes.
• REL (Relative): Activates Relative mode. This sets the current reading as a reference point (zero), and subsequent readings show the deviation from this reference.

באַטערי פאַרבייַט

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery as described in the "Battery Installation" section under Setup.

• If storing the meter for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
• Store the meter in its hard carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
