Proper setup is crucial for the performance and longevity of your Intex PureSpa. Ensure you have a flat, stable surface for placement. The spa should not be placed on grass as it can damage the grass and potentially the spa liner over time. A concrete patio or a dedicated spa pad is recommended.

- Lay out the thermal ground cloth (included) on your chosen flat surface. This provides insulation and protection for the spa's base.

The PureSpa features a self-inflation system integrated into the control unit.

2.3 Connecting the Control Unit
- Connect the three hoses from the spa to the corresponding ports on the control unit. Ensure all connections are hand-tight to prevent leaks.
- Plug the control unit into a grounded electrical outlet. The unit is designed for 120V operation.

- Fill the spa with fresh water using a garden hose. Fill to the indicated maximum water level line on the interior of the spa. The water capacity is approximately 290 gallons.

- Note that running the bubble jets may slightly decrease the water temperature.

4.1 Filter Cartridges
- The spa uses two easy-to-replace filter cartridges.
- Clean the filter cartridges daily by rinsing them with a garden hose.
- Replace cartridges every 1-2 weeks, or more frequently with heavy use, to maintain optimal filtration.

- Regularly test water chemistry using a 3-way test strip (included) and adjust chemical levels as needed (e.g., chlorine, pH, alkalinity).

- Drain the spa completely before cleaning or long-term storage.
- Clean the interior and exterior surfaces with a mild soap and water solution.

An E90 error code usually indicates a circulation issue, often related to clogged filters. Clean or replace the filter cartridges and ensure proper water flow through the control unit.
