Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter with your DYMO LabelWriter 4XL printer:

Excessive Blank Labels

  3. Press the backwards feed button to remove labels from the print head.
  4. Unplug the printer.

  7. Carefully remove any jammed labels. If necessary, cut and remove labels from the printer and roller.
  8. Reattach the faceplate by aligning it and gently snapping it into place. Ensure it is secure before plugging the printer back in.
  9. Load new labels and you are ready to print.

Mac OSX Print Queue Issues

If you are a Mac OSX user and the printer refuses to print despite the software indicating it's ready, follow these steps:

  1. Reset the printer: Unplug the power supply and wait 15 seconds for the blue light to go out, then plug it back in.
  2. If the issue persists, restart the print queue:
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Select 'DYMO LabelWriter 4XL' from the printers list. If not visible, close and restart the label software.
    • Click 'Open Print Queue'.
    • In the upper left corner of the Print Queue window, click 'Resume'. This will start printing jobs in the queue.
    • If you do not want items printed, click 'Pause' and use the 'x' marks to remove specific print jobs. Then click 'Resume'.
    • Before closing, print a test label from the Dymo Label software to verify functionality.
