ESI 597IR 1000V CATIII DMM and EST-100 IR Thermometer Kit

4. סעטאַפּ

4.1 באַטאַרייע ייַנמאָנטירונג

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the rear of the ESI 597IR DMM.

3. Insert the supplied 9-volt battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).

4.3 Connecting EST-100 IR Thermometer Adapter

The EST-100 IR Thermometer adapter connects to the DMM using its integrated leads. Plug the red lead into the VΩmA input and the black lead into the COM input. The DMM will then display temperature readings from the EST-100.

4.4 Connecting Inductive RPM Pick-up

Connect the inductive RPM pick-up to the designated RPM input on the DMM. The pick-up features a five-position adjustable sensitivity switch to optimize signal detection for various ignition systems.

5.1 Digital Multimeter (DMM) Functions

The ESI 597IR DMM offers a wide range of measurement capabilities. Use the rotary dial to select the desired function.

5.2 EST-100 IR Thermometer Operation

Once connected to the DMM, the EST-100 allows for non-contact temperature measurement. Point the IR thermometer at the target surface. The DMM will display the temperature reading. The EST-100 has an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio, meaning at 8 inches from the target, it measures a 1-inch diameter area. It can measure temperatures up to 1022°F (550°C).

5.3 Inductive RPM Pick-up Operation

Attach the inductive RPM pick-up to an ignition wire or other suitable location to detect engine RPM. Adjust the five-position sensitivity switch on the pick-up to ensure accurate readings for different engine types and ignition systems. The DMM will display the engine revolutions per minute.
