Operating the Turnout

The Piko 55225 three-way turnout is designed for both manual and optional electrical operation:

• מאַנואַל אָפּעראַציע: The turnout switch can be operated manually using the positioning lever. Once a direction is set, the turnout remains fixed in that position after a train passes over it, eliminating the need for additional manual adjustments.
• Electrical Operation (Optional): An electrical switch machine (Piko #55271, sold separately) can be installed to automate turnout operation. Refer to the switch machine's instructions for installation.
• Current Carrying: The turnout is fully current-carrying. No special wiring is required for power when changing positions.
• Frog: The frog section of the turnout does not carry current. However, due to the short distance between rail sections, even vehicles with small axle distances can pass over it without issues. The frogs cannot be polarized after installation.
