Symptoms of low/dead batteries
The most common cause of intermittent control via a Wireless keypad is a low or dead battery, it is recommended to change the battery first before exploring other possibilities to rule it out.
There is no LED illumination when buttons are pressed.
If the batteries are fully depleted, the LED will not illuminate when any of the buttons are pressed on the keypad; a battery replacement is required.
The LED blinks or fl ashes when any button is pressed
If the LED blinks periodically when any of the buttons are pressed, there are two main reasons for this:
- The batteries installed are approaching the end of their life and need to be replaced.
- The wrong replacement battery has been used.
NB
Rako Keypads are not compatible with Duracell batteries.

The control of the lighting is intermittent on the keypad
If the keypad has become intermittent in controlling the lighting, there are a few main things it could be:
- The battery needs to be replaced (most likely)
- The aerial is loose or not connected to the keypad

Before the batteries are changed, it is important to identify the keypad type, as the method of changing batteries varies depending on the model.
NB
Rako Keypads are not compatible with Duracell batteries.
RCP07 (discontinued)
| 1 | Remove the screws on each side of the cover plate and set them aside. |  |
| 2 | Unclip the back section of the RCP. |  |
| 3 | Using a small flat-head screwdriver, carefully slide the old batteries out, paying attention to the battery orientation. |  |
| 4 | Insert two of the replacement CR2016 batteries. |  |
| 5 | Press the buttons on the front, there should be a solid red light to confirm that the batteries are functioning correctly. |  |
| 6 | שייַעך-צוטשעפּען די דעקן. |  |
| 6 | Screw the cover plate and the RCP back into the wall. |  |
RCM or RNC (Screwless Cover plate)
| 1 | Remove the front cover plate carefully and pry the cover plate away from the wall using a
flat-head screwdriver. Option A: RLM. Option B: RLH, RLF |

| 2 | Unscrew the grid from the backbox and remove the RCM/RNC. |  |
| 3 | Slide out the battery tray, and take note of the tray and battery orientation. |  |
| 4 | Remove the old batteries, making note of their orientation and type.,

RCM or RNC (Screwed Cover plate)
| 1 | Remove the front cover screws on the front cover plate and set the plate and screws aside. |  |
| 2 | Push out the RCM from the clear plastic grid.
Slide out the battery tray, and take note of the tray and battery orientation. |

| 3 | Remove the old batteries, making note of their orientation and type.
2023 און פריער 2 x CR2016 batteries.
2024 און שפּעטער 1 x CR2032 battery. |

RK-EOS
| 1 | Insert a flat-head screwdriver no larger than 3mm into the bottom slot of the RP-EOS coverplate.
Whilst holding the plate, carefully pry the RP-EOS cover plate away from the grid and set it aside. |

| 2 | Unscrew the grid provided with the RP-EOS.
Unclip the RK-EOS from the grid. |
 |
| 3 | Slide out the battery tray, and take note of the tray and battery orientation. |  |
| 4 | Replace the old battery with the same type.

| 5 | Push the RK-EOS back into the grid and screw the grid into the backbox. |  |
| 6 | Firmly press the RP-EOS plate onto the grid until it sits flush all the way around. |  |
RK-MOD
| 1 | Remove the HS-MOD surround by pulling it gently away from the grid.
NB The HS-MOD surround is magnetically fixed. |

| 2 | Using a flat-head screwdriver, carefully pry the front grid with the RK-MOD away from the backbox grid. |  |
| 3 | Slide out the battery tray on the back, making note of the battery and tray orientation.
Replace the old battery with the same type. |

| 4 | רוק די באַטאַרייע טאַץ צוריק אין. |  |
| 5 | Push the RK-MOD back into the backbox grid which was disconnected in step 2. |  |
| 6 | Fit the HS-MOD surround to the front of the RK-MOD.
Ensure that all edges are sitting flush |
