5.1 Accessing Storage

1. Remove Mattress: For easier lifting, remove the mattress from the bed. While the hydraulic system is designed to assist, removing the mattress reduces the initial effort.
2. Lift Bed Base: Locate the mattress retainer bar at the foot of the bed. Grasp the bar firmly and lift the slatted bed base upwards. The hydraulic gas struts will assist in lifting and holding the base in an open position.
3. Access Storage: Once the bed base is fully open, you can access the spacious storage compartment underneath.

5.2 Closing Storage

1. Clear Compartment: Ensure no items are obstructing the closing mechanism.
2. Lower Bed Base: Gently pull the bed base downwards. You may need to apply some force to overcome the hydraulic pressure initially. Guide the base down until it rests securely on the frame.
3. Replace Mattress: Place the mattress back onto the bed base.
